How does ASOT work? Here is our goal / charter.
Our goal is to give used Sonos devices a second life.
Since 2019, we have operated an online shop offering both used devices and many new ones.
Buyers contact us very often because they have already been scammed several times on other platforms and simply want to do business with a trustworthy used-goods seller. With a reliable, professional, and service-oriented approach, we help customers buy and sell.
ASOT.CH focuses on the following activities:
On-site installation and system training
Troubleshooting existing systems on site and by phone
Assistance with anything related to SONOS
Sale of SONOS systems
Consulting, buying, and selling SONOS speakers
Maintenance and cleaning of older devices
Are these new devices?
any of our devices are sold as used items, even though some are actually new and come with a warranty and unopened packaging. We do not want to label individual devices separately, as we see ourselves as a business focused exclusively on second-hand trade. However, newer devices in particular often still have warranty coverage that can be used directly with SONOS.
For this, it is best to contact the Sonos hotline at +41 800 566 782 or visit Sonos Support.

Receiving the audio channel from external devices
To get the audio channel from a source device (TV box, game console, or PC) to Sonos, you need a speaker that can receive that source. The source can be received via optical cable, HDMI connection, or 3.5 mm audio jack (not recommended due to quality loss).
Sonos Playbar (optical connection)
Sonos Playbase (optical connection)
– Sonos Ray (optical connection)
– Sonos Beam, Beam Gen 2 (HDMI connection)
– Sonos Arc (HDMI eARC connection)
– Sonos Play 5 gen. 1 (compatible only with the S1 app, audio jack connection)
– Sonos Play 5 gen. 2 (audio jack connection)
I have a Sonos device with an optical connection, but my TV box does not have one. What should I do?
This challenge often appears in home cinema setups with a projector. In such cases, it is not always possible or practical to send the audio signal to the projector and then pass it on to the speaker from there. In this case, it is recommended to install a so-called audio splitter.
The audio splitter extracts the audio track from the HDMI signal and forwards it, depending on your needs, via HDMI eARC or an optical output.
We recommend the following product without obligation:
FVAX04101 HDMI eARC Pass Switch 4×1 für Soundbar.
Please note that, depending on the product, Dolby Surround and other audio qualities may not be passed through by the splitter. It is therefore advisable to check carefully which splitter you buy and invest a little more.
Which speakers do I need for my room?
We are asked this question very often.
Of course, this cannot be answered in a one-size-fits-all way. However, based on our experience, there are a few characteristics / rules of thumb to consider.
What should be considered when assessing the room?
- What should the sound experience in the room be like? Full coverage, only in certain areas, background music, etc.?
- What is the shape of the room like?
- What is the ambient noise level of the rooms?
- What are the ceiling heights?
- Are there enough power outlets?
- Should the devices also be used via AirPlay / with iPhone, or only with Android?
- Are there any other requirements?
In principle, it is always recommended to equip a room with more than one speaker whenever possible, simply because this allows you to move from mono sound to a stereo experience.
Example of how such questions are handled, based on a small venue with different rooms:
- What are the ceiling heights?
Ja.
- Gibt es weitere Vorgaben? Ja wir wollen AirPlay verwenden.
Based on such questions and many others, an initial assessment can be made. Of course, testing on site is always recommended.
How can I recognize fraudulent online listings?
Many of our customers have already fallen for a fake listing on Tutti, Anibis, or even Ricardo. Maybe that is why you ended up here? In that case, we are happy to help you avoid such experiences. We can give you the following tips:
- Warranty claim: if a listing says the device is still under warranty and it is a Play 1, 3, 5, Playbar, Playbase, or Connect, it can be assumed with a high degree of certainty that something is wrong.
- Type of listing: if you see phrases such as “Where do you live?”, “Which region do you live in?”, “My device is always available.”
Statements such as “I cannot hand over the device in person,” “Can you pay with Twint?”, or “I will safely send it with a postal carrier,” etc., are very likely not genuine.
